Happening in the world: Developments in the Myanmar coup—the police have now begun using force against the protesters in Myanmar. The protesters are currently protesting the coup orchestrated by the military to overthrow the elected government and are being met with water cannon, tear gas, and rubber bullets. (BBC)

Happening in the US: California has now surpassed New York and become the deadliest COVID state in the US. The state averaged 500 daily deaths last week. The pandemic’s toll has been uneven, with the agricultural Central Valley and the south being the hardest hit. (NYT)

Happening in New York: The Biden administration is boosting sales of the COVID Vaccine in the state of New York. The White House is increasing the state’s dosage supply by 5%. While this move is helpful, it is not sufficient enough to meet the need for vaccines in New York. (CBS New York)
