Welcome to Columbia, Class of 2025!

Columbia College and Fu Foundation School of Engineering and Applied Sciences released admissions decisions tonight at 7 pm EST for regular decision applicants for the class of 2025.

The schools received 60,551 applications, a 50% increase from last year. They accepted 2,218 applicants, including students from all 50 states and over 100 countries.

Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid Jessica Marinaccio praised the accepted students for “all that they have achieved despite the significant challenges of the past year.”

Congrats Class of 2025; we can’t wait to meet you this fall!

Below is the full statement from Jessica Marinaccio, Dean of Undergraduate Admissions and Financial Aid:

We are thrilled to be releasing acceptances today to an extraordinary group of students who hail from all fifty states, one hundred different countries and a striking variety of backgrounds and interests. We are inviting them to join our community because they have shown through their talent, intellect, inquisitiveness, resilience and energy that they would thrive here at Columbia. As we celebrate these individuals and the incredible promise of their futures, we stand in great admiration for all that they have achieved despite the significant challenges of the past year.

We also want to express our esteem for the students who are receiving disappointing news from us today. Saying no to so many talented students who also applied to Columbia is a responsibility that we do not relish, but we have the utmost confidence that their paths will still lead them to future success.

In the weeks ahead, we will be hosting dozens of virtual programs to help newly-admitted students connect with faculty, administrators and future classmates in order to learn about the enduring friendships, stimulating academic pursuits, and transformative opportunities that await them at Columbia. In an admissions cycle unlike any other, we are excited to share our institution with students and families who are looking to understand how their college journeys may unfold.
