New York City is packed with amazing culture and inspiring art, and now that so much of it is online for free, there’s never been a better time to experience it first-hand. “Where Art Thou” is a weekly guide to interesting and notable lectures, events, and performances for the literary/musically/theatrically-inclined.

Installation

From February 3 to 13, the Lenfest Center for the Arts is hosting The Art of Listening: Under Water, an immersive and site-specific installation of a composition of underwater recordings of the sounds of sea animals around the world. This installation will also be the topic of a discussion between the creator, Jana Winderen, and Tony Myatt, on February 5 at 3 pm.

Conversation

On Wednesday, February 2, Claus Drexel, French documentarian, will join The Institute of French Studies and Columbia Maison Française for a conversation about his film The Edge of the World, which documents the homeless community of Paris.

Mediation

On February 4, join Irish poet and conflict mediator Pádraig Ó Tuama for the latest session of Poetry Lab: Exploring Conflict Intelligence Through A Poem.
