Happening in the World: Twenty two crew members of the cargo ship Felicity Ace have been forced to abandon ship ninety miles off the coast of Portugal after a fire in the cargo hold unexpectedly escalated. The vessel, which had been containing a shipment of luxury cars, remains on fire and stranded in the Atlantic. Expectant car owners have been contacted by their respective dealers — which includes notable car manufacturers such as Porsche and Volkswagen — and notified of the situation. (CNN)

Happening in the US: The Biden administration has announced that they will propose a regulation that would make it difficult for future administrations to restore the Trump-era policy changes that disproportionately affect low -resource immigrants. Issued February 2020, Trump’s immigration policies mainly targeted immigrants who received or were most likely to need public benefits, expanding the list of public benefits that could make a new immigrant ineligible for permanent residency.
