Happening in the World: A new UN report found that extreme wildfires will become much more common, increasing by more than 50% by the turn of the century. The study also calls for the allocation of funds towards preventing and fighting fires. (BBC)

Happening in the US: The employees of a Starbucks in Arizona have voted to unionize, becoming just the third Starbucks location to do so. Beyond these three locations, over 65 stores across 20 states have petitioned the labor board to conduct unionization elections. (NBC)

Happening in NYC: Officials announced that students will no longer be required to wear masks while outside on NYC public school grounds. For the time being, mandates on masking inside schools will remain in place since lifting them requires the removal of state mandates. (Gothamist)
