Happening in the world: North Korea fired a ballistic missile into the Korean peninsula on early Sunday morning. South Korea’s Joint Chiefs of Staff called the launch a “clear violation” of the UN security council’s resolution. (CNN)

Happening in the US: Florida is now in a state of emergency as Hurricane Ian, expected to become a Category 3 storm, brews in the Caribbean. The storm is expected to land in Florida by Wednesday or Thursday. (NBC)

Happening in New York: Nancy Pelosi was apparently booed at the Global Citizens Festival in Central Park. She was introduced by Priyanka Chopra, but social media posts of the moment seem to show her receiving a less-than-warm welcome. (NY Post)

Happening in our community: Tomorrow is Music Monday at the Forum. Players from the Louis Armstrong Jazz Performance Program will perform in the Atrium from 6 to 7 pm in the first installment of a new monthly concert series.
