  • The benches outside Hartley. 
  • The bench outside Earl Hall.
  • The Barnard Jenny Holzer bench (aka eugenics bench).
  • The benches outside of Butler.

Other Seats:

  • The stacks’ desk.
  • The little ledge thingy that wraps around Butler that you can use as a bench and is hidden behind the hedge.
  • The tree planter thing in front of Uris.
    • AKA one of the ledges by the “the curl” statue in front of Uris.
  • Those raised areas on the lower part of college walk.
  • On the stairs inside your building. 
    • Just sitting while people walk past is strange, but nice.
    • Like stairwell A or B in the Barnard quad.
  • Sitting in front of alma.
  • The weird table in your suite hallway.
  • One of the couches in Hewitt dining hall. 
  • One of the chairs by the elevators in Hewitt residence hall.
  • The ledge thing on Low steps where you can dangle your feet over.
    • What is it even called? 

The Outside World:

  • Riverside Park.
    • Hanging out with the Riverside raccoons.
  • The little courtyard in between Avery and Fayerweather.
  •  The Barnard Greenhouse.
  • Peace garden.
  • In front of Joan Didion’s grave.
  • That little area between Math and Havemeyer.
  • A stray patch of sun. channel your inner dog/cat.
  • Just taking your headphones out and walking in silence is always meditative.

Your room:

  • Your floor.
  • Your carpet.
  • Under your bed.
  • Inside your closet.
  • Stick your head out of your window at night for as long as it’s comfortable.

The Inside World:

  • Hungarian provided it’s not packed.
  • St. Luke’s :/.
  • The elevator. 
  • Barnard quad computer labs. 
    • AKA liminal spaces…
  • Music practice rooms. 
  • Any library cubicle.
  • Waiting room of primary care.
  • The shower.
  • Escape to the stacks.
  • Any laundry room.
    • Furnald laundry room late at night/early in the morning.
  • The queen portrait in Butler.
  • Lerner 510.
    • <3 Bwog moment.
