Find out how things are tumbling down in this morning’s Bwoglines.

Happening in the World: It’s a catastro-tree! Robin Hood’s Tree, one of the United Kingdom’s iconic arboreal landmarks, was cut down overnight. Located at Sycamore Gap, a dip in the landscape by Hadrian’s Wall, it was found early yesterday morning felled over and with chainsaw scarring. The 200-year-old tree was well known for its appearance in the 1991 film Robin Hood: Prince of Thieves, from which it received one of its popular monikers. It also won the 2016 England Tree of the Year award. Early in the investigation, a teenager was taken into custody for suspicion of committing the crime. Police are still searching for any information about this criminal act. (BBC)

Happening in the US: Former President Donald J. Trump may be losing some of his important New York real estate after a judge ruled that he inflated the values of his properties significantly to secure favorable terms on loans and insurance. Multiple properties, including Trump Tower, where the Trump Organization allegedly employed deceptive practices to boost property values. However, Trump’s lawyers argue that the lawsuit fails to consider the subjective nature of real estate valuations. A trial to decide potential penalties may begin soon, and Trump’s lawyers are expected to appeal the ruling. (NYT)

Happening in NYC: A New York judge ruling has allowed for the minimum wages of app-based food delivery workers to increase. This decision opposes the challenges posed by Uber, DoorDash, and Grubhub. The new minimum pay law will see workers earning approximately $18 per hour starting in October, eventually rising to $20 per hour by 2025. This is a significant increase from the current average of $11 per hour. This victory in wage expansion is one of many in modern discussions over labor rights and fair compensation in the gig economy. (NYT)
