Happening in NYC: Migrant families whose children have medical or mental health conditions are finding relief from having to move out of their shelters and reapply for housing. Mayor Eric Adams began to restrict shelter stays for migrant families with children in January. Still, migrants experiencing PTSD or other disabilities can get their stays extended through reasonable accommodations protected by disability law. This is a relief for many families worried about whether their kids would be uprooted from schools and bounced between housing options. (The Gothamist)
