Nothing better than a good 10 hour white noise video on YouTube.

Bwogline: Following the second NYPD sweep of Columbia’s campus in two weeks, President Shafik released a statement to the Columbia community. In the email, sent on May 1 at 11:19am, the President thanked the NYPD for their “incredible professionalism and support”, though many claims of unnecessary brutality—evidenced by videos, which have circulated on social media—have been made by students. While acknowledging the “long and proud tradition of protest and activism” at Columbia, Shafik stated that the occupation of Hamilton Hall led to “acts of destruction, not political speech”, making many students feel “uncomfortable and unwelcome.” She also acknowledged the Palestinian cause and the tragedies in Gaza for the first time since the conflict on campus began, stating that the students were“fighting for an important cause, for the rights of Palestinians and against the humanitarian tragedy in Gaza.” (Bwog

Study Tip: Noise canceling headphones + 10 hours of white noise (this specific video is a personal favorite) + trapping yourself in a library = focus. Finally.

Music of the Day: Risk – Gracie Abrams: in true Barnard fashion, I watched the music video two times in a row and then listened 16 consecutive times on Spotify after it came out. Support a former Barnard girlie and give it a listen.

Procrastination Tip: When was the last time you paid your email inbox a proper visit? Go through every single one of your emails, one by one, and delete. Make some labels, spend a minimum of 15 minutes deciding what color each one should be, and respond to whatever random article your grandpa forwarded you. Is it technically wasting time if you’re ultra-organized when you’re done?

Overseen/Overheard: “At the end of last semester, the angry emails we were sending were about bed bugs. That’s really what we thought was gonna be the end of the world. Look at us now” – my friend, Lucine
