I love biomedical engineering (mostly), but boy is it hard. Here is a poem, though give me grace, as I’m not a bard.

In Columbia’s halls, where knowledge runs deep,

Biomedical engineering demands “no sleep!”

Equations and plots, cells and design,

Hours spent tracing the thinnest of lines.

From coding new systems, precise and tight,

To exchanging some homework to ensure that it’s right.

Between problem sets and projects unending,

Sometimes it feels my world is ending.

But alas, there is some spark of redemption,

When you share those moments and figure out that question.

The moments I share studying with my friends,

Though sometimes it feels like it’ll never end,

Are moments so special and true.

I am blue thinking of a time without

My friends and our little zoo.

So Biomedical Engineering may be tough.

And it may be rough.

And it may suck

(Sometimes).

But I don’t know what I’d do

Without the hours spent with friends.

And I wish that this studying will never end.
