Keep hanging in there and go get yourself some Hewitt biscuits
Let’s be honest, most of us have probably been better. The November cold is setting in as we are only a week out of an incredibly emotional and disruptive election, all while the extremely prolonged midterms season rages on. Things can feel pretty hopeless in such an intense time, but it is exactly in times like this when it is vital to remind ourselves of the things that inspire us, make us laugh or just make our days a little easier.
When I’m feeling hopeless, I like to make lists of seemingly small things that I’m grateful for. This is something I’ve been doing for many years and though it’s not always easy, I find it’s incredibly rewarding. So here is my most recent list of the things on or around campus that have brightened my day. I’m sharing in hopes that maybe it will remind you of some things in your life that bring you joy.
I’m grateful for..
- Hewitt biscuits
- The Met Cloisters
- The architecture of Milkbank
- Crisp fall air
- Ferris cheesecake
- Tree lights going up on College Walk
- Big squishy chairs in the Brooks lounge
- Diana Cafe staff member who helped me find the bowl lids
- Dog watching in Riverside Park
- The Barnard Greenhouse
- Flowers outside of Milstein
