Bwogline: A bird disabled the engine of an American Airlines jetliner last night, forcing the plane to make an emergency landing at John F. Kennedy International Airport. No one was injured, and the plane was able to make a safe landing within 10 minutes. Although bird strikes on planes have been increasing over the past year according to the Federal Aviation Administration, it is rare for bird-related damage to be severe enough that aircraft are forced to land.
