Civic Space Under Autocracy: Tactics for Repression and Resistance
- Wednesday, March 26, 12:10 to 1:10 pm, William and June Warren Hall 417.
- This event featuring Mandeep Tiwana, Interim Co-Secretary General, CIVICUS will discuss trends of authoritarian government behavior and the activists who fight against it. The lecture is part of a series on “Activism against Authoritarianism” presented by the Human Rights Institute.

From Shocks to Resilience: Lessons from UNICEF for Today & Tomorrow
- Friday, March 28, 10 am to 12 pm, Uris 142.
- Co-hosted by UNICEF, SIPA, Columbia Climate School, NCDP, and the Columbia South Asian Student Association, this discussion will include crises in South Asia and lessons from COVID-19. The event will focus on how to turn challenges into learning opportunities and feature Jeffrey Schlegelmilch, Director of the National Center for Disaster Preparedness (NCDP), Mitch Stripling, Director of the NYC Preparedness & Recovery Institute, George Laryea-Adjei, Director of the UNICEF Programme Group, and Jessica Owens, Regional Advisor of Social Policy at UNICEF.
