@SEAS '13 Before today, I’d never heard Prezbo say anything that interesting. But I really liked his commencement address today. Did other people feel the same way?
@Anonymous YES! This. A great deal of my intellectual and activist experiences at college were organized around the very issues he raised (i.e. global public media, worker’s rights, etc). I too found myself surprised when he expressed these issues to our peers and families with the significance and weight that they deserve. Congratulations to everyone in the class of 2013!
@Anonymous Agreed. Also the diversity issue was strongly emphasized, which might be related to the hate crime occurred recently in the campus. The idea of not stopping learning was also inspiring.
I used to feel bad that we don’t have invited speakers for the university commencement, but now I no longer feel so.
