@Anonymous NYT trend pieces always sound like some kid in U Writing wrote them
@ah- but what is their lens?
@Anonymous “In this way, some colleges mirror retirement communities, where women often find that the reward for outliving their husbands is competing with other widows for the attentions of the few surviving bachelors.”
Thanks for your sensitivity, NYT. Thanks a heap.
@Anonymous yeah, but the ratio at columbia is fake. true, there are a lot more girls to guys, but barnard so dilutes the pool that there are still many more normal guys to hot girls. which sucks.
NYU, on the other hand? straight guy to hot (slightly hipsterish with clothes on) girl ratio is unbelievable.
@umm... i agree with your sentiment that there are many more normal guys to hot girls on campus. merely because when lightning strikes (ever so occasionally) and someone on campus actually is hot, it is usually a girl forced to date some average neanderthal.
i’m so tickled by the terms of your ratio, hot girls to normal guys, implying that every average guy deserves access to hot, above-average girls. why don’t you go to nyu if the ratio suits you so well there, loverboy? we won’t miss you at columbia.
@wut look at the female to male ratio of all the tech colleges. It’s the complete opposite. So instead of girls trying to get with the only boy in school, you have a decent-looking girl owning 99% of the boys.
