Republican presidential candidate Ben Carson dropped his newest single – that is, his newest campaign ad in the form of a rap song. Aimed at African-American voters, the rap features artist Aspiring Mogul over a basic club beat, and tries to rhyme “Carson” with “awesome”. Many responded with criticism of Carson’s racial stereotyping and fundamental misunderstanding of rap music. (ABC News)

Prithika Yashini was appointed to the position of sub-inspector for the district of Tamilnadu in India, becoming the country’s first transgender police officer. Yashini’s application was initially rejected, but accepted early this morning after several petitions and complaints. (India.com)
