With this two-day visit, he hopes to encourage peaceful change, but conflicts between dissidents and security forces – now on international display – make that change appear difficult. Serena Williams lost to Victoria Azarenka at the BNP Paribas Open in Indian Wells, California yesterday, but her remarks denouncing tournament director Raymond Moore’s sexist comments were far from losing. Moore claimed that women in tennis owe their popularity to men in the sport; Serena served up exactly why and how much he was wrong. (NY Times)

On Saturday night, Amy Schumer went to see Hamilton, and she left the bartenders a $1,000 tip – by far the biggest tip they’ve ever gotten. The tip was split among the six bartenders who were working that night, all of whom hope to use bartending as a stepping stone to acting success (the same way Schumer did herself.) (NY Daily News)

And finally, last night, Fox aired a live musical event called The Passion: a retelling of Jesus Christ’s final days using popular music.
