We know it’s impossible to forget about the Sexual Respect Requirement, constantly looming over our heads like that giant phallic-shaped balloon hovering over Butler in a dream we once had – but just in case it slipped your mind, this is a friendly reminder that tonight at 11:59pm is the deadline to register. All new Columbia students, mainly first-years and transfers to CC and SEAS, are required to participate this academic year. And if you don’t register by tonight, a hold will be placed on your SSOL account that prevents you from registering for classes next semester – but no pressure or anything.
Here are some helpful instructions, taken from an email that was sent out to students who have yet to register last week:
- Visit Columbia’s Sexual Respect website to select your participation option.
- Once you have completed your participation, visit https://courseworks.columbia.edu.
- Log in with your UNI and password.
- Click on My Projects on the left column.
- Click on 2015-16 Sexual Respect and Community Citizenship Initiative.
- Follow the instructions for each option.
- After you verify your participation, you will receive a message from CourseWorks acknowledging your completion and asking you to fill out a brief survey.
Possible methods of fulfilling the requirement include workshops, film screenings, resources for healing and resilience, and independent projects.
An informative experience for everyone involved via the Sexual Respect Initiative’s website
