New York City is packed with an incredible array of art and culture but with so many different exhibits and events going on, sometimes it’s hard to know where to start! We’ve whipped up a nice list of places Barnumbia students can access for free, either with the use of their CUID or the place just has free admission. This list is by no means complete but should give you a good breadth of places across all 5 boroughs to check out.
Manhattan
Cooper-Hewitt, National Design Museum
Dance Theater of Harlem (performances in the future may cost, but virtual performance recordings are free)
Frick Gallery (pay-what-you-wish on Saturdays from 11-1 pm, so pay nothing if you wish)
International Center of Photography
Museum at the Fashion Institute of Technology
Museum of the City of New York
National Academy of Design Museum
New Museum (Thursdays from 7-9 pm)
Storefront for Art and Architecture Gallery
SummerStage Performances (some are free, some cost)
United Palace Theater (free to check it out, actual performances cost)
The Bronx
Brooklyn
Brooklyn Museum (first Saturday of the month from 5-11 pm)
Queens
Godwin-Ternbach Museum at Queens College
Sculpture Center (free with reservation)
Staten Island
Staten Island Museum (pay-what-you-wish, so pay nothing if you wish)
