Admire The Pirates of Penzance… and write lyrics for Varsity Show.

Name, School, Major, Hometown: Lauren, Barnard, Medieval & Renaissance Studies, Wilmington, DE

Claim to fame: The only MedRen major you know

Where are you going? Forward! The only direction!

What are three things you learned at Columbia and would like to share with the Class of 2028?

  1. Em Dashes (—), En Dashes (–), and Hyphens (-) are all different forms of punctuation
  2. Hierarchy is an illusion
  3. Pirates of Penzance

“Back in my day…” In the early COVID days, all campus buildings were locked except for Uris, so if you needed to pee you could only swipe into Uris to Uris-nate.

What was your favorite class at Columbia?

  • Acting II with Mana Allen
  • On Justice: Medieval Law, Literature, & Culture with Christina Lopez
  • Crime/Punishment/Middle Ages with Neslihan Şenocak

Whom would you like to thank? The company of V130, the Columbia Federalist, Professor Rachel Eisendrath, my family, and my beloved and dear friends.

One thing to do before graduating? Write the lyrics of the Varsity Show, it’s actually really chill and easy to do.

Any regrets? Probably not!
