  • Nearby dorms: Harmony (110th between Broadway and Amsterdam)
  • Stores and restaurants:  Koronet Pizza, Chipotle, Playa Bowls, Westside Market, CVS, Fumo, and many more

Cost: The upperclassmen rate for AY 2024-2025 is $12,222

Amenities:

  • Bathrooms: There are two communal style bathrooms per suite. One of them has two stalls and one shower, and the other has two showers and one stall. 
  • AC/Heating: There is definitely a heater but unfortunately no AC.
  • Kitchen: Each suite has a private kitchen with ample storage and appliances.
  • Lounge: Each suite has a lounge featuring three large chairs, a coffee table, a TV, and a whiteboard.
  • Laundry: Free in the basement!
  • Computers/Printing: Printer in the lobby.
  • Fire Escapes: Unfortunately the fire escapes are inaccessible.
  • Gym: Located on the top floor with treadmills, stationary bikes, and space for mats and other smaller equipment. 
  • Bike Storage: Located in the basement. 
  • Elevators: Yes! And good news, they are much faster than the Carman elevators. 
  • Hardwood/Carpet: Hardwood.

Room Variety:

  • Nine floors of 25 singles and 53 doubles 
  • Each suite contains 4 to 10 rooms

Numbers from 2024:

  • The makeup from 2024 was 74% rising sophomores, 25% rising juniors, and 1% rising seniors

As a Carlton skeptic turned fan, I am ready for the hate to stop. Yes, the walk can be inconvenient if you forget something vital or are running late to your 8:40, but honestly, living further away from campus lets me live out my NYC apartment dreams. Having been lucky enough to snag a room with a bay window, I love my view of Riverside Park and will be sad to see it go next year. The suite living is amazing if you’re living with friends, but I can see how being placed in a large suite with random people might not be ideal. Noise within suites can be loud at times, but the building itself is relatively quiet.
