To all my Columbia sweethearts: I dare you to get married at Ferris.

Save the date: On Wednesday, October 14, students were invited to a special Wedding Wednesday as Ferris Booth Commons transformed into a marriage-themed celebration.

The ceremony, which began promptly at 5 p.m., spared no expense on decorations. Upon entering Ferris, diners were greeted by silk decorations and flowers adorning the entrance. Neatly arranged tables featured white tablecloths and pink runners, while floral arches and elaborate arrangements added to the romantic atmosphere.

Even the staff appeared to be getting into the spirit of the occasion. Some wore veils, others sported bow ties, and one staff member was even spotted wearing a full wedding dress. But the festivities weren’t limited to Ferris. Rumor has it that a real bride was spotted at the Columbia gates. Coincidence? Or was Ferris’s wedding celebration the beginning of a much bigger love story?

Things only got better once the food arrived. Under the banner “Love at First Bite,” gnocchi was served. Meanwhile, fresh mozzarella, garlic bread, pizza, and other Italian favorites were presented under the aptly named “Happily Ever Antipasto.” At the dumpling station, “Dumpling Ever After” offered another opportunity to share a meal with your soon-to-be significant other.

Of course, no Ferris celebration would be complete without its extravagant dessert spread. The display featured a large sheet cake bearing the words “Just Married,” alongside other delicious cakes. Personally, I said “I do” to the blue and pink cupcakes topped with tiny bride-and-groom duck decorations.

For those who happened to find their soulmate between the dumplings and the dessert table, October 14 might just become an anniversary worth celebrating. Is it too soon to start planning the honeymoon?
