Update: One of Spec’s reporters caught up with Anna and learned she was first put on notice two weeks ago, after she returned a confiscated fake ID to a student for $40, but the final straw came last Monday, when she took a shot from the bar after a long shift, which The Heights strictly prohibits.
According to our sources, Anna, (in)famous bouncer at The Heights and bane of many a first-year’s fake-fueled fun, has been fired for unspecified reasons.
Anna, some of us will miss you, some of us will not, and some of us won’t know how to feel in a 10-Things-I-Hate-About-You sort of way.
In any event, we wish you luck in all your future endeavors.

@Anonymous Let’s be real, people, the heights got a C from sanitation. I loved the heights. I loved Anna. She bought me a Marg when she thought I graduated but I actually didn’t. Like we love each other. That being said – the Heights got a C from sanitation. It is harder to get a C from the, than it is for Columbia. Koronets got an A. M2M got a B. If the heights cared about their clientele at all, they would have made it their business to get at least a B if not an A. But, they don’t. Like Columbia frat boys, they’ll take whoever comes their way. (Kidding.) But if the Heights cared about their guests, they wouldn’t have fired Anna and they would have got an A. She’s the only reason I went there anyways before I feared food poisoning by them after their horrific grade.
@Anonymous cool story bro
@Anonymous cool story bro
@Anonymous alcohol kills germs and the margs are really all that matters.
@Koronet* it’s singular.
@Anonymous I should’ve bought her a piece of pizza like my roomate did…
@2012 First Kevin the bartender then this. Sad life.
@noooooooooooooooooo I never got to say goodbye :( ANNA I WILL MISS YOU SO MUCH.
@Anonymous Noooo, Anna : (
@Anonymous Anna was a bitch. She arbitrarily decided who to let in and who not to. The same ID on two different nights would get completely different reactions.
@Brian We’ll be removing comments on this post that make accusations about Anna or The Heights.
@Anonymous wow you guys suck
@cc '12 since when does bwog do this?
@Anonymous of course they have to do this, bars/restaurants/bartenders in the area could get in HUGE trouble if they are accused of serving alcohol to minors. know what that means? no more getting into said bars, you “22 year old” freshman. so chill with the accusations.
@oops that was in response to “you guys suck”. i mean, yes, bwog totally sucks, but they’re doing the right thing here.
@Anonymous Jesus Christ, get over yourself. The concept that an anonymously authored article on a college blog would cause the police to suspect that a bouncer in a college town might be allowing underage students to drink is entirely and thoroughly absurd. What bar DOESN’T at some point or time get accused of serving alcohol to minors?
This is the internet. If the NYPD decides to really try their damndest to bust underage drinking, they have better resources than Bwog. It’s no reason to arbitrarily and unilaterally impose censorship on what should be a free forum.
@postcrypt uhhhh
@postcrypt uhhhhhh
@CC-Alum What’s so bad about being a 22year old freshman?
Been there, done that.
@GS What’s unusual about being a 22-year-old freshman?
@Anonymous She turned me down many a time, but I still have a lot of respect for her. She didn’t take shit from anyone. Plus, I greatly enjoyed seeing her put drunk frat boys in their place when they tried to sneak by her.
@Anonymous Spec had a good interview with her a while ago. She made it seem like she genuinely cared about protecting underage students (especially girls) from dangerous situations. Enemy of fun or not, she actually seemed like one of the good ones.
Good luck, Anna!
@Anonymous Link?
@Yes... if you look at it from that perspective. Others may likely say she was an unnecessary cockblocker.
@fuck feminism, literally why does society make it so hard for me to get my dick wet
@anon. link to the article: http://eye.columbiaspectator.com/article/2011/04/21/annas-world
@Anna's world? More like anus world.
@hmm Does it strike anyone as wrong to publicly shame someone who has been dismissed from her job, and who thus must conceivably feel a good deal of embarrassment already?
@Anonymous no
@Spiro Yeah, this is, like, on par with Watergate.
@chill bro we’re lamenting
@Anonymous Valentine’s Day, too. Must still be drunk.
@Anonymous There goes my Valentine Day date. FML.
@2014 Yo this is super bad
