Maybe it’s not as warm as it was a few days ago, but it’s still springtime! Get out there and enjoy it with your favorite neighborhood farmers at the Columbia Greenmarket, on Broadway between 114th and 116th every Thursday and Sunday. This week’s highlights gets you involved:
- Everything you see at the market began as a small seed, young grasshopper. Farmers now are planting more seeds and transplanting plants into the new spring soil. Want in on the action? The greenmarket is here for you! Swing by the market info tent starting at 11 am today to make yourself a seed sprout necklace. Thanks to your warmth (and looveeee) the necklace can in fact sprout! Once you have roots and a couple leaves, you can transplant the seed to a garden or pot and start your own little farm. If only you could get credits for it!
Credit, debit, and EBT are accepted
