President Laura Rosenbury addressed the Barnard community in a statement on Monday evening, four days after the arrests and suspensions of multiple Barnard students involved in the Gaza Solidarity Encampment.  

On Monday, April 22, radio show host Sid Rosenberg hosted a press conference in front of Columbia. Nassau County Executive Bruce Blakeman, Representative Anthony D’Esposito (R-NY), and Representative Mike Lawler (R-NY) spoke. Actor and comedian Michael Rapaport spoke in a separate press conference. 

This afternoon, student workers and faculty members gathered to show support for suspended students. 

On Saturday, April 13, Staff Writer Sofie Huang attended the opening of Columbia Musical Theatre Society’s production of Anastasia, which ran on April 12 and 13 at the Glicker-Milstein Theater.

The NYPD held a briefing about their response to the ongoing Columbia University demonstrations on 116th and Broadway.

In a statement posted to the Columbia website and sent to students at 1:14 am, President Minouche Shafik announced that all Columbia classes will be virtual on Monday, April 22.
