Sheetrock falling in McBain was clearly not enough for the Columbia ceilings’ reign of terror over students’ heads. The failure of basic infrastructure continues, causing more destruction of property/sense of peace/personal integrity, this time in Hartley. Because the one worse thing than sheetrock falling in your bedroom is sheetrock falling in your bathroom, right above your toilet.
No word on whether the occupants of the unfortunate Hartley suite have been compensated/had their damn bathroom fixed/have been apologized to by Columbia Housing on hands and knees because that is just fucked up. To make this story even better, Bwog’s rumor brigade heard tales of a similar situation in Broadway. Will the terror ever end? Probably not, because #housingproblems. Just hold out till next year, folks! You don’t *really* need a toilet…

@Anonymous Lol. Toilets get clogged on the daily and you don’t see ceilings collapsing everywhere. In a building that’s structurally sound, it’s not normal for this kind of thing to happen. Now sheet rock and shit are falling on people’s heads? There’s got to be a few biohazard/living standard violations wrapped up in that.
@lsat clogged toilet may be sufficient but not necessary
@Anonymous Someone clogged the toilet above, that is why it happened. Housing cannot anticipated people clogging toilets.
@Anonymous You should get free housing for the year (or a decent discount at the very least) if the ceiling falls on your head. Either you or your parents need to raise hell with housing. This is unacceptable. I bet they’d start listening if a bunch of people threatened to report it to the authorities…because it sounds likes there have been several incidents.

@SEAS '15 I work in the Medical Center and around the time of the McBain incident a piece of ceiling almost hit a researcher on her head.
@CC 15 First year in Carman, our shower ceiling was falling down and what happened here in Hartley was even worse in a bathroom down the hall in Carman.
Also, it took them 3 times to fix the small hole in our shower because they couldn’t get it right. yay Housing.
@asdf thank god I decided not to apply early decision to this place…
@Yes, Thank god you didn’t. We certainly don’t need someone sad enough to still be reading the student blog of a school s/he decided not to apply to.
@Anonymous slow clap
@Ceiling Sorry, I couldn’t hold it any longer…
@Anonymous Holy shit Columbia get it together.
@Watch Funny, because the first time this happened this semester in Hartley, no one cared.
