According to Barnard Public Safety, there’s been a stabbing on the 1 train at the 116th subway stop. No students were involved in the incident, but that “it was some high school kids.”
Stand by for updates/photos.
Update: 4:50 PM – Further investigation reveals that the stabbing took place on the 1 at 110th Street, not 116th. Bwog checked both the 116th and 110th Street stops for delays and/or commotion but found neither. A policeman told us that the stabbing took place around 4 PM and the police cars on 116th are just here to “see what’s going on.” There’s no news of it yet on local stations.

@how about public safety starts using the text message notification system?
@Wow. This isn’t the first stabbing at the 110th street subway station. Two summers ago (in the summer of 2006), a man was stabbed by a lunatic wielding a jackhammer stolen from an MTA construction site.
@actually I think that was at 3 am and it was a lunatic wielding a chainsaw (or two).
@Actually It wasn’t a chainsaw, it was a reciprocating saw, and he wasn’t stabbed so much as sawed in the torso.
@actually actually it was two reciprocating shaws, duel-wielding action. he found them at a construction site on the subway platform
@Anonymous Centurion: You know the penalty laid down by Roman law for harboring a known criminal?
Matthias: No.
Centurion: Crucifixion!
Matthias: Oh.
Centurion: Nasty, eh?
Matthias: Could be worse.
Centurion: What you mean “Could be worse”?
Matthias: Well, you could be stabbed.
Centurion: Stabbed? Takes a second. Crucifixion lasts hours. It’s a slow, horrible death.
Matthias: Well, at least it gets you out in the open air.
@Brian I lol’d even though you misspelled brian…
@what?!? stabbing! details, please!
@photos of the stabbing? you’re so good to me bwog. i can’t wait!
@CC10 It’s absolutely inexcusable for Columbia Public Safety to be just as incompetent/uninterested as every other department at our global university. It’s like they think they’re Housing or something!
@alright I realize that the respective public safety organizations & police are still piecing together the details, but this is the kind of breaking info that emails are useful for. Kudos to Barnard PS for getting the word out quickly, but where’s the CC, SEAS, GS, Grad Student, etc. email? this is relevant to all of our safety, not just Barnard
@what why??
@also barnard security just sent out an email saying that uniformed guards would be patrolling the dorms and asking people who look like they don’t belong to leave… related? or just weird?
@yeah, i couldn’t figure it out. war on fun?
@So... Males?
@... Maybe that email is the start of BC’s WAR ON SEX!!! AHHH!!!!!!!!
