The hidden forces around Columbia are readying themselves for the arrival of that mistress of madness Ann Coulter on Monday. But oh, twist! Conversio Virium, the BDSM campus group known for its sex toy demos, will be hosting author Kate Bornstein starting sixty minutes after the Coulter debacle. She’ll be talking about when “the way you express yourself makes other people queasy.” Quite the back-to-back billing.
That touchy-feely liberal “victimization” might raise Coulter’s hackles a little bit. The last time she sparred with Conversio Virium was two and a half years ago, when Fox News invited Coulter to comment on a report that Columbia has a lot of sex. A lot of kinky sex. Coulter told Fox, “[S]omeone who needs to join a club at college to find a way to have sex, probably not your lookers…probably something a little wrong about them.”
It’s so on. Bags and signs are forbidden at the Coulter event, but students do have a history of creative protest.

@where is the bwog coverage?
@abc123 every single person working at the event was incredibly and outwardly rude. columbia republicans clearly don’t get laid.
@i hear there is a nerdy sex party on low steps after dark tonight.

… do not be too dissuaded by the title and just read it — I promise this is the funniest thing you’ll read today
@dude you’re not supposed to compliment Ann Coulter.
@Dude Take the lesson that undersexed Columbia students should have learned and GIVE IT UP ALREADY.
@please please please please please no one protest or attend the coulter thing. just let it be the lamest of republicans sitting there amongst themselves patting themselves on the back for their ridiculous premises.
@maymay Conversio Virium is known for its sex toy demos? Really? I think the last presentation that had anything specifically to do with sex toys was my “Playing with Sex Toys” presentation in 2007.
Conversio Virium discusses a lot of sexuality-related things, so I’d rather see Bwog actually bill it as the educational group that it is instead of trying to sensationalize on the subject matter.
That said, thanks both to you and Ann Coulter for the publicity. :)
@i hope obnoxious columbia students don’t make a scene again
@well... they werent connected until Conversio Virium sent out an email to all of CQA promoting this event as the proper way to protest Coulter’s visit.
@i personally found the suggestion that columbia students have lots of sex hilarious
@an evangelical trust me….it’s not [better].
*shudder* it’s really, really not.
@ann.. she is sooo fugly

@"twist!" someone’s been watching 30 rock. snaps for bwog!
@WHAT NEEDS TO happen at the Coulter event which involves no bags or signs:
a group of at least 4 students, upon hearing a particularly obnoxious segment of her speech, stay politely in their seats and simply break out and sing “we shall overcome” in 4 part harmony. over and over again.
@dude anne coulter just needs to be railed against the wall. her objection to cv reeks of sexual repression…
@HEY …there’s nothing a little wrong with me!
I just like to get spanked while clutching a flashlight between my cheeks (if I drop it i get to be disciplined by a random member of the audience).
I won’t be judged by shoulder blades and a turkey neck.
@1948 are these two events in any way connected, or is Bwog just trying to stir shit up?
@Both Are happening in auditoriums named Altschul. Let the hilarity begin.
@actually it was a complete coincidence, because the CV event has been booked for a long time. It just so happens that Coulter decided to come on the same day.
@lol they are not connected. bwog is trying to stir shit up as usual. way to go bwog, making up stories says so much about your reporting skills!
@MTB Lacking a good evangelist sex group on campus (obviously the ideal), I’ll just have to settle for kinky coeds – damn. I’m definitely looking forward to Bornstein!
