Taqueria: Closed for Renovation

Everybody’s favorite little piece of Mexico on Amsterdam is currently closed for renovation, and there is no word on when it will be back up. And that “everyone” includes two 20-something males overheard saying “We’ve been foiled again!” as they looked sadly upon the closed restaurant.

    @Tip A restaurant that is “closed for renovation” usually means it failed inspection.

    They failed two inspections within a month of each other.

      @Anonymous i refuse to click on that link. i rather be ignorant and happily eat my weekly order of beef tacos durados for the rest of my life… if anything, “urban animals” add spice and keep the food cheap.

        3.) Food contact surface not properly maintained.
        4.) Facility not vermin proof. Harborage or conditions conducive to vermin infestation exist.
        5.) Wiping cloths dirty or not stored in sanitizing solution
        6.) Sanitized equipment or utensil, including in-use food dispensing utensil, improperly used or stored.
        7.) Hand washing facility not provided in or near food preparation area and toilet room. Hot and cold running water at adequate pressure not provided at facility. Soap and an acceptable hand-drying device not provided.
        8.) Evidence of, or flying insects in facility’s food and/ or non-food areas.
        9.) Raw, cooked or prepared food is adulterated, contaminated, cross-contaminated and/ or not discarded in accordance with HACCP plan.
