The Office of Undergraduate Admissions sends out letters informing the 23,195 potential members of the Class of 2014 of their fates. That number, in addition to early decision applicants, brings this year’s total to 26,178: 21,747 of them applied to the College and 4,431 to SEAS. Best of luck, friends!

@It's not that Columbia sucks, it’s just that people here aren’t happy.
@ED If I was an ED accepted student and received a bunch of online materials and some individually mailed letters should I expect something in the mail?
@to be fair columbia does not suck (all the time)…we just like to complain
@Anonymous I honestly think that’s the worst thing about Columbia.
@Anonymouse Amen. People should stop being whiny bitches all the time.
@09alum Agreed dear 2014ers. I hope the one person I interviewed (out of 10) and recommended got in!
@dear 2014ers, be excited for this moment. it will be the happiest moment you have in connection to columbia. there’ll be other good ones, but nothing like this one.
@2014ers CONGRATS on getting it!!!
Get ready for the most amazing 4 years of your life!!!
@hm do you even go here?
@come on! Imma let you be jaded, but Columbia really is a wonderful experience!
@no snot no it’s not
@Anonymous Mean Girls quote!
@ED Admit We just got an envelope..they get boxes?
@2014er!!! I GOT IN!!! does anyone here know the band animal collective?
@umm gtfo 2014er. Animal Collective both sucks and is not at all related to this post
@HAHA I think it was a joke. It was posted from here on campus.
@Anonymous they switch the mail service every year because in the past students have tried to call dhl/fedex before receiving their decisions to see if they had any packages heading their way, so this would deter students from trying this method
@Anonymous No way. That’s crazy.
@hahahaha only in the ivies.
@that makes no sense. The mail would only be processed by the next day, by which point the online decisions are already available. This just screams “urban legend”.
@anonymous I always wonder, do the people who work in admissions really know what the hell is going on with what they’re doing. Have they gone through any sort of ivy league admissions process? Or even college?
It just seems a bit unfair.
And that’s life!
@I wonder... Do you have Downs?
I think you need an extra piece of candy because you have an extra chromosome.
@cha candy=chromosome?
@oh wow you're a dick I work in the admissions office, and get PAID!!! its a bunch of work studies, grads, and a few over qualified full timers. why are you bitter?!
(truth be told, its a big joke around here)
@To be clear you don’t think admissions officers have gone to college…yeah, i bet you’re wrong.
@Anonymous yes. A lot of them are Columbia grads. Most are people who have been in the admissions business for years and gradually work up the chain of lesser schools to here. So they either come straight from the Ivy league atmosphere or are picked from a highly competitive pool of admission officers from around the country.
@Anonymous i love the men in the little brown truck
\what can Brown do for you\
@... they will soon learn that columbia is like unprotected sex, thrilled you got in but sorry you came…
@Anonymous then transfer.
@omg so original!!! :D:D:D:D
@haha I remember someone wrote that when the class of 2011 letters were mailed
@who cares about the packaging?
Honestly only over achieving too detail striven Columbia students
@ha sux 4 them
@jefffp i wonder what made them switch from FedEx to UPS. CONSPIRACY
@Anonymous It was DHL my year. I think they switch a lot
@It was DHL back in my time…
@Anonymouse I got UPS’d last year.
@Cliff woooo! Welcome 2014! (ps first)
@umm cliffy, buddy, we don’t do that here.
