Mel’s Burger Bar is coming along quite nicely.
And more Morningside dining news: Kuti’s, a new takeout store on 116th between Morningside and Manhattan Avenues, just got a good review from the Times. Bwog sampled the shrimp piri-piri and it is delicious, and just $7 for a plate of shrimp and two sides. Most dishes are between $5-7.

@ilikestuffingmyface Its true, the food around columbia is generally mediocre and overpriced. anyone who says otherwise is either stoned, drunk, or has no tastebuds.
@Anonymous This thread is mad confusing ya’ll
@wat I called Mel’s on Thursday (8/5) and they said it would be another 2 weeks before they opened.
@Dude! Lay off. Eliza and I have been in an “it’s complicated” relationship on facebook for like three months now. You missed your chance… But Eugene and Milton from Bwog are still single!
@The Wild Thornberries Bozo? The 1960’s called and they want their terminology back. As I am an expert in the classic Nickelodeon TV stint, “The Wild Thornberries,” I do not recall Eliza’s family calling her by any other name than Eliza. For a rose by any other name would surely not smell as sweet.
@HAHAH Never met her. And even if I was, there would be no way to validate that claim… In effect, your attempt to cyberstalk her profile would be futile. Most people nowadays don’t even post whether or not they are in a relationship on facebook. Where do you work btw? Sophomore, junior, senior?
@Anonymous *hits track* you’re a tool.
@UMass-Dartmouth Umm… Dartmouth is in New Hampshire! You also forgot Yale and Brown. University of Rhode Island – Providence and UConn at New Haven
@uhh Dartmouth and Brown are in the ivy league?
@Please don't take off points! Sorry, please note the following when grading my exam:
My name/uni: STD6969
Date: I’m not looking for a relationship at the moment…
My TA: Lil Wayne, my prison cell-mate, was in charge of administering and proctoring the test…
@When did Bwog become CollegeACB?
@When did CollegeACB become Bwog? No one except brain-cell deficient frat boys and prissy, superficial gossip girls frequent the threads of collegeacb. Bwog is for the remaining mature, non-cowardly and self-respecting 95% of the school who aren’t entirely freshman.
@Tryin to catch me writing nerdy To be or not to be– that is the question:
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And, by opposing, end them. To die, to sleep
No more – and by a sleep to say we end
The heartache and the thousand natural shocks
That flesh is heir to – ‘tis a consummation
Devoutly to be wished. To die, to sleep
To sleep, perchance to dream.
@ay there’s the rub
@She had Chlamydia!?! I want a refund!
@I mean depending on... The weather, my mood and time of day, it’s almost 4.5 inches…
@thanks thoughtful insight from from a 61 year old summer intern.
@Class of 2069 Actually, I haven’t been born yet… I’m writing this from the future!
@Hey Don’t be a jerk. I agree with the Alum, eateries around Columbia University are terrible and expensive.
@Her Career is on Fire! Not everyone from the Barnard School of Columbia University goes on to employment high profile jobs such as CEO’s of bulge brackets, serving as Justices in the Supreme Court or (wo)manning a gasoline pump, wait nvm. Well just because at age 61 she is employed in an unpaid internship doesn’t make the accomplishment any the less notable. Unless you have employment more prestigious than an unpaid internship at the Shell station at the corner of Feldman’s Street in Newark, then you probably should keep your lips shut. No, not those lips. Just joking… barnard pride!
@Dude... you lack any vestige of a sense of humor. What’s the matter: did your mom delete your world of warcraft account after you shit your pants because you were so fixated on the game? Only losers who probably will never get jobs in the bulge bracket use such lame acronyms… GS/JPM/IBD, I laugh at you.
@Oh... lol sorry, sarcasm/satire/irony is very hard to detect in written word. That’s why texting is so dangerous! NEVER have an argument over texting…
PS: I’m the unofficial troll round these here parts.
@Yup Hence the current economic crisis. Zing!
@... you write like a robot programmed by someone who never understood grammar.
@Worst food in NYC! After working in midtown this summer and having sampled food from many other districts in NYC, I have found that Morningside Heights has to have the absolute worst cuisine in the entire borough of Manhattan. But an auspicious review for Kuti’s is a breath of fresh air… I also have high hopes for Mel’s Burger Bar! – BC ’69
@Its funny Barnard, 69…haha
@Wait, i dont get it… ?
@Oh... I see what you did there
@to be precise he’s laughing at what a fossil you are.
