Every Thursday and Sunday the Columbia Greenmarket brings you fresh local produce to stare at while you walk along Broadway. Stop by and stock up on veggies for the hearty winter stews you’ll make while procrastinating during the hectic, upcoming weeks. Here are the highlights:
- Growing season nears an end, and a few farmers will be leaving the market to hibernate for the winter. Hodgson Farms waves goodbye on Thursday, and Gonzalez Farm bids adieu on Sunday.
- Dipaola Turkeys and Cayuga Pure Organics return this Sunday with bread, flour, grains and beans.
- King Ferry will be selling wine this Sunday and may be accompanied by a new winery, attending part-time.
- Monkshood Nursery brings greens, sprouts, shoots and lettuce in the face of the oncoming frost.
