Music Performance Program & Barnard-Columbia-Juilliard Present Spring Recital at 8 pm in Miller Theater. The Columbia/Juilliard partnership helps to cultivate the performing artists of tomorrow, to share Columbia University’s resources with a broader audiences, and to foster interdepartmental collaboration. Free.
Thursday
Sure: A Play in Your Words at 8 pm in ADP also Friday. Based on interviews with students from Columbia’s queer community, follows the lives of five young men and women as they navigate the coming out process and becoming sure of themselves. 5$ suggested at the door.
Friday
The Odyssey at 8 pm in Hamilton, also Saturday. An original performance piece which re-imagines The Odyssey through Virginia Woolf and merges shell-shocked soldiers, 1920s Lotus Eaters and Homer’s epic poetry for a winding tour and installation which features performance, puppets, live music and original writing. Free.
Saturday
8th Annual Columbia National Undergraduate Film Festival at 2 pm in Lerner Cinema. Featuring ten to twelve short student films selected for their distinction and excellence, the festival gives students a means to appreciate filmmaking created by their peers nationwide, hoping to inspire them with the art of creating independent film. $3.
Columbia University Gospel Choir Spring Concert at 7 pm in Lerner Party Space. Performing a selection of songs from their repertoire, CU Gospel Choir hopes to share messages of uplifting power through a variety of contemporary gospel music. $5.
WKCR Han Bennink 70th Birthday Concert at 7:30 pm at The Italian Academy. The culmination of a five day broadcast, this live concert featuring Han Bennink, Mark Dresser, Uri Caine and others celebrates the music of the Dutch percussionist for his 70th birthday. $25.
Monday
Q2P: Film screening and discussion at 6 pm in Maison Francaise. Paromita Vohra will explore gender, the city, and vulnerability with clips from select films, accompanied by a screening of her award-winning documentary Q2P. Q2P is a film about toilets and the city. Free.

@Charlie D I was lucky enough to see Sure last night and I highly recommend it – it isn’t long, the proceeds go to the Ali Forney Center (providing housing and support for homeless LGBT youth), and it has an amazing cast and script!

@Free stuff There is also the annual Econ-Poli Sci Rivalry Game of capture the flag, meeting up this Friday at the sundial at noon. Free stuff for all participants! Students, TAs, professors etc all welcome. There will be a celebration after at the Heights. If you really like one of those departments but aren’t majoring you’re welcome too.

The misandridt ad campaign to alienate and stereotype males as sex-fueled beasts only serves to worsen the gender divide. Although I am not a misogynist, the feminist lefts decision to turn a blind eye to tremendous female privilege and attack mens dwindling rights makes me detest women. Men’s rights are scoffed at all too often – maybe that’s why males are 4x as likely to fuking kill themselves. Or how about the statistics that they don’t tell you – 9/10 rape accusations are thrown out by courts as rubbish. There’s a difference between after-the-fact buyers remorse and consensual, in-the-moment sex.
@CU Swing Also on Friday at 9.00 p.m. in the Event Oval in the Diana, CU Swing Dance will be holding their Biannual Semi-Formal: Sugar Foot Strut. There’ll be an awesome live band (The Baby Soda Jazz Band). For people who don’t know how to swing dance, there will be a beginner lesson at 8.30 p.m.. And the entire event (from 8.30 – midnight) only costs $8 with a CUID!
