The Rocky Horror Picture Show is the cult classic mandatory for any successful Halloweekend. Whether it’s your guilty pleasure movie after a night spent drinking pumpkin beer or you force all of your friends to dress up to see a screening downtown, your Halloween just won’t be complete without a little Rocky. You’re in luck, because this thursday the Columbia Musical Theatre Society is taking this masterpiece to the next level. This event will be better than just your average public screening, because not only will you be able to interact with the film as always, but the characters may just respond this time. This is because CMTS isn’t just screening The Rocky Horror Picture Show, but is presenting it as a shadowcast, with live actors performing the roles in front of the film. The movie will come to life before your very eyes! Directed by Mariana Benjamin, and featuring a cast of some of the most uninhibited actors Columbia has to offer, there is no better way to begin your Halloweekend.
The film will be screened/performed this Thursday at 8pm in the Diana Event Oval. Tickets are $1, with audience participation packs available for only $3. A portion of the night’s proceeds will go to Broadway Care/Equity Fights AIDS. While the show is currently sold out, there will be a waitlist at the door.
