Bacchanal Tries To Fix Things

Written by

Battle of the Bands is canceled, but in brighter news The Bacchanal Executive Board is starting to leak some information. Most significantly the headliner will be announced April 1st. Read below for the full press release.

We regret the missteps that led to the cancellation of this year’s Battle of the Bands, which was supposed to be held at the Beta House. To ensure that the student opener selection process for this year’s Bacchanal Spring Concert remains democratic and transparent, we will be holding open student voting on the Lerner Ramps next Monday through Thursday, from 12:00 PM to 4:00 PM each day.

Students will be allowed one vote per UNI, and will have the opportunity to listen to submissions from our student acts on the ramps, which range from acoustic singer/songwriter duos to EDM DJs. As always, we’re excited to showcase the broad range of talent that we are so lucky to have on campus, so profiles of each act will be available at the booth.

Come by, hang out, munch on some snacks, listen to some music, and determine the future of the Bacchanal Spring Concert, a time-honored Columbia tradition.

Much love and stay safe,

The Bacchanal Executive Board

P.S. We can’t wait to announce our headliner on April 1st!

actually should be way more transparent.

  2. anone

100% fake headliner joke on april 1st don't get ur hopes up kids

  3. Well

Bacchanal always makes the official announcement on April 1, so that's not much of a leak

  4. fsw

    Hologram tupac for bacchanal!

  5. Blunts in Butler

  6. Flaxo

Why is he on the lineup if he is a student? I don't even really know his music?

  7. I don't want to spoil it..

... But I'm like at least 760% sure it's Lupe Fiasco.

He's obviously musically talented, but produces garbage overplayed Trap.

  9. Sun Looks Down live at Ding Dong Lounge TONIGHT, NO COVER

It's honestly a shame that the band fight got cancelled and it could not have been for a dumber reason. But that's in the past now.

Anyway, if you want to catch a Sun Looks Down live set before voting,
come on down to the Ding Dong Lounge TONIGHT (sat) at 1030p. NO COVER!

just a short walk from campus down at 106th and Columbus.

If we're lucky, the good vibes we intend to spread might smooth out some of the bitterness this whole Battle of the Bands fiasco seems to have brought out.

Let's just play music and have fun and be happy! Life's too short for all this melodramatic B.S.
