Dat cake

Dat cake

Remember last week when Ferris served a cake for dessert that made sexual assault awareness look pretty and delicious? Well, there’s some recent news on that debacle. Vicki Dunn, Executive Director of Columbia Dining, previously commented on the situation clarifying that the cake was an “inappropriate gesture” on behalf of an employee trying to recognize this month being Sexual Assault Awareness Month. Considering controversy with sexual assault at Columbia this past year, the cake was not taken well from students.

However, the cake was apparently not made by a Columbia employee in Columbia Dining. According to The Lion, Ferris workers did not make the cake and that the cake was made at a factory off campus. The Lion also reported from an employee saying that Dunn must have approved the order, but may not have known what was said on the cake. Looks like somebody is in some deep shit in Dining Services. What a damn mystery.
