Barnard First-Year Election Results Are In!

Long live democracy

Long live democracy

Congratulations to the new leaders of the Barnard Class of 2019!
We’d like to applaud those who exercised their right to vote, as well as all candidates who ran, some of whom employed pretty creative campaign strategies, (We’re a little disappointed that the girl who gave out roses and cupcakes didn’t win but we also heard it was illegal to bribe voters).

Here are the election results, courtesy an SGA email:

Dear Class of 2019,

Thank you to all our First Year candidates and everyone who voted during SGA’s First Year Elections! Congratulations on successful, innovative, and productive campaigns. We would like to take the time to thank you for voting (40.2% of you voted, that is an excellent percentage!), as well as all the candidates for their hard work and determination.

Following is the list of elected First Years:

First Year Class President
Emma Barnett

First Year Class Vice President
Nicola Kirkpatrick

First Year Class Treasurer
Emma Cloyd

Also, it’s not too late to become a part of SGA! There are various open positions on First Year Class Council and on Representative Council. The deadline for applications is Friday, September 25th, at 11:59pm. Please apply by visiting: barnard.edu/sga/getinvolved.

Best,

The Elections Commission

@Alum Nice to see the little women at Barnard getting so involved. I always thought SGA was the cutest.
