Ever been in a really specific random mood and wished there was a playlist for it? Odds are it exists and was created by a Bwog staffer. Below is a collection of Bwog’s most niche and weird playlists organized by mood.

  • Big Brain: brains are strange places with weird thoughts and connections. “Songs that Sound the Same” is comprised of exactly four songs that its creator’s brain thinks are the same.

  • Big Brain of a Different Strain: Barnumbia students are, according to some person I matched with on Tinder, “very smarticle particle.” If your “smarticle particle” lab has you pipetting, there’s a playlist for that. “Hypetting” is a playlist for when you’re in the lab just doing a ton of pipetting and is 90% Charli XCX and 10% Fall Out Boy.

  • Distracted Brain: “Procrastinating Like a Child’s Birthday Party Got Stuck in My Head” was made at 3 AM amidst a pile of readings and essays. It features theme songs to kids’ television shows, baby shark, and some Kidz Bop bangers.

  • Annoying Brain: do you feel like being annoying? Is a song stuck in your head? Bwoggers have playlists for that. “Africa by TOTO” features 22 versions of the song “Africa” and “Desafinado” features 11 versions of “Desafinado.” These playlists will really test your relationship with these songs by seeing if you still love it ten versions in.

  • Farmer Brain: apparently Barnumbia students think they’re farmers. A playlist called “chill barnyard in the 1800s” consisting of exactly two songs that convey this Very Specific Mood is probably the most niche, followed closely by  “your past life in wyoming,” which consists of weird Americana music that makes you feel like you just caught a glimpse of a half-skinned deer at the edge of your ranch property. Another Bwogger’s has a playlist called “yeehaw?” which is a bunch of country/folk songs that either make them contemplative about America or ready to fight depending on the day. A fourth Bwogger has a playlist of of country songs about women who murder their abusive husbands.

  • Thematic Brain: the songs on these playlists are all related to the same specific topics. The titles of “Bops About Russia” and “Banana Songs” really speak for themselves.

  • Dramatic Brain: a playlist called “roll credits” so you can feel like you’re in the final scene of a teen movie driving off into the sunset in a Jeep with your friends.
