Happening in the World: One was killed and another injured after a bomb detonated in front of the Liverpool Women’s Hospital in England. According to police, the bomb was a “improvised explosive device” (IED) which exploded inside a taxi outside the hospital. Four people have been arrested under the Terrorism Act and the police have yet to identify the suspect behind the attack (BBC).

Happening in the US: Biden is set to announce that he will ban fossil fuel drilling in a ten mile radius around Chaco Canyon in New Mexico, a historic Native American site. The announcement will coincide with a visit to the White House by several tribal leaders and is one way the administration claims they have made the lives of Native Americans significantly better (NYT).

Happening in NYC: Today, Dr. Dave Chokshi, New York City Health Commissioner, announced that all adults are eligible for the booster shot no matter age or occupation! The new rules state that as long as it has been two months past the first dose of the Johnson & Johnson vaccine, or six months after the second dose of the Pfizer or Moderna vaccine, one can get the booster shot (Gothamist).
