Starting this fall, all Columbia students will have access to three dining locations at Teachers College.

Columbia Dining is expanding its service to Teachers College this fall. In addition to expanding Grace Dodge Dining Hall, making it accessible to all Columbia students, Columbia Dining will open two new locations, Blue Java Everett Café and the Avenue C Micro Market.

Located in the lower level of Grace Dodge Hall, Grace Dodge Dining Hall will offer “all-you-care-to-eat dining,” featuring grilled specials like banh mi, tacos, paninis, and quesadillas, as well as a made-to-order salad bar. The space also features a seating area that accommodates over 100 students.

Meanwhile, in Russell Hall, the new Blue Java Everett Café will serve a standard Blue Java menu of coffee, tea, pastries, and grab-and-go items. Grace Dodge Dining Hall will now accept meal swipes, Dining Dollars, Flex, credit cards, and Emergency Meal Fund tickets, while Blue Java will accept Flex, Dining Dollars, and credit cards.

In addition to Blue Java, another grab-and-go dining option, the Avenue C Micro Market, will open in the lobby of Whittier Hall. The market will be open 24/7 and will feature a variety of pre-made meal options, including salads, sandwiches, noodle bowls, and additional snacks. Like Blue Java, the Avenue C Micro Market will accept Flex, Dining Dollars, and credit cards.

The addition of these locations is the latest in a steady effort to expand Columbia’s dining options. Since 2021, the University has opened a total of six new dining locations on campus, including the three locations at Teachers College, as well as Faculty House, Chef Mike’s Sub Shop, and Chef Don’s Pizza Pi. Most recently, Columbia Dining announced in April that JJ’s Place would return to its original 22-hour schedule after reducing its hours in 2021.

In last week’s announcement, Assistant Vice President of Columbia Dining Vicki Dunn said, “It’s going to be the Columbia Dining you know and love—good food, good service, and good fun—extending operations on the Morningside campus to the Teachers College address.”
