Bwog does not endorse underage drinking, nor do we endorse drinking without style.
It’s nearing the end of midterm season, and we all know what’s coming up—Halloweekend. We could all use a tasty, colorful cocktail to destress a bit after the first half of the semester. Whether you’re looking for something fun to serve at a party or just want an excuse to look like you have super classy culinary instincts, try the recipe below for lychee elderflower martinis.
My wonderful suitemate who made us martinis used a recipe with three reviews she found online and did not follow it. However, she is magic, so the martinis were delicious. Our suite planned to start making the martinis at a specific time, but once I got to the kitchen, I found my suitemate had already finished. She was stirring a mysterious bowl of pink liquid with a soup ladle while 60s lounge music played from her phone.
Yes, the lychee elderflower martini was a magical potion. It tasted very strong, but very sweet, and very pink, and very yummy…
Ingredients
- 1 ½ oz vodka (probably better with more expensive vodka, but we used Svedka)
- 1 ½ oz elderflower liqueur (recipe calls for St. Germain, we used St. Elder)
- 1 oz lychee juice (we used Mogu Mogu Lychee Juice and strained out the nata de coco)
- A few lychees
- Optional: Lychee soda (Sangaria Ramune)
- Mandatory: Love and magic
Steps
- Strain the lychee juice.
- Pour everything into a big bowl inside another big bowl filled with ice.
- Stir.
- Pour and garnish with chopped lychee (peeled and pitted, optional).
- Add some lychee soda to your drink for a bit of carbonation (optional).
- Best served in fancy cups!
Martinis and cucumbers!
I sincerely hope all of you try this—it’s the tastiest thing I’ve had in a while. Let us know in the comments if you make it!
