Consider switching the y and x axes. As temperature increases, GPA decreases. The explanation being that as it gets nicer outside people will want to be outside, in turn sacrificing time studying, and in turn performing poorly on exams.
THE ALTERNATIVE AND WHAT IS CURRENTLY STILL IN PLACE IMPLIES THAT BY SOME AMAZINGLY DIVINE PROVIDENCE, AS YOUR CLASS PERFORMANCE INCREASES, ZEUS AND/OR THOR GET REALLY FLUSTERED AND DECIDE TO MAKE IT COLD AND RAINY AND SHITTY.

@Broom Despite how many uppercase letters you use, you actually don’t understand what you’re talking about.
Either way the axes go, they don’t necessarily imply any causality. The x-axis is the variable you have direct control over and the y-axis is the one you are measuring. The graph is okay as is. You should be less self-confident.
@Anonymous Again, seriously…. take an econ class. Unless you’re going to try to tell me that you can’t manipulate quantity because price must be “divinely dictated by Zeus” or whatever, both x and y or just one or just the other can be dependent variables.
