For the caffeine-dependent students that need a good budget option.
If you’re anything like me, your coffee intake has gone up since being in college. I love coffee, and I especially love a good deal. Many places around campus offer student discounts, but you have to ask (and then show your ID). Very rarely do they automatically give you the discount. You have to ask! You have to show your ID! Here are some places around campus that offer student discounts or have really good deals. Of course, there are more options to explore, but here are a few to get you started.
Places with discounts and deals:
- Orens Coffee
- Playa Bowls (Yes, they have coffee too!)
- Olive Tree on 121st and Broadway
- Qahwah House
- Dear Mama offers a discount if you bring in your own cup, they also have a punch card/loyalty card system.
- Tea Magic: Offers a Loyalty Card
- Kyuramen: Offers a discount for students if you pay in cash.
- Super Nice Coffee and Bakery: Sign up to receive their texts, they regularly send out two-for-one pastry options available if you show the text message.
Places with no student Discount:
- Blue Bottle (I asked, they said no)
- Niko Coffee (They take Flex though)
Another recommendation:
- Split a Pret A Manger Subscription with a friend, it is such a good deal! If you split the subscription, it’s only $22 a month.
Remember to always ask and have your student ID ready to show. Remember that good deals are out there for us students… you just have to be on the lookout!
