Senior Blaise Staab looks to upset the Crimson tonight

Rumors are flying around campus that Jeremy Lin, point guard for the New York Knicks and overnight NBA sensation, will be at Columbia tonight to watch his Alma mater play. Bwog can’t confirm this rumor, but we can say it would make a lot of sense. The Knicks beat the Cleveland Cavaliers on Wednesday at home and are currently on a short break before they head to Boston to take on the Celtics this Sunday. In addition, the Crimson are in a tightly-contested title race with Penn and Yale heading into the final weekend of the regular season, and a loss tonight would hurt their chances of claiming the Ivy League crown. Odds are that if Lin does make an appearance, Linsanity will ensue in Morningside Heights. Get your puns and camera phones ready!
Tonight, Columbia (14-14) takes on Ivy League-leading Harvard (24-4) in Levien Gymnasium at 7 p.m. After dropping their last five games, the Lions are looking to bounce back and upset the Crimson in the second to last game of the season. In the last meeting between the two Ivy League rivals on February 4th, Columbia narrowly lost to Harvard, 52-57. The Crimson are coming off of a loss of their own, and the Lions hope to take advantage of the home crowd tonight.
Tonight’s game is currently SOLD OUT for non-students, but there will be a limited number of standing-room only tickets available at the ticket office on the second floor of Dodge Fitness Center at 6 p.m. As usual, students are admitted FREE with a valid Columbia or Barnard ID, but get there early as Levien is bound to be packed tonight.
