On Tuesday, a group of Jewish demonstrators held a protest on Low steps, condemning the arrest of Mahmoud Khalil and affirming that “immigrants are welcome here” amid ICE presence around Columbia’s campus.
Palestinian activist and Columbia graduate Mahmoud Khalil was detained by ICE on Saturday in what appears to be one of the first enforcement of President Trump’s policy targeting international students involved in anti-war protests.
