During a virtual plenary on Wednesday, May 8 at 3:30 pm, the University Senate discussed the decision to cancel commencement and unanimously passed a motion calling for the temporary suspension of disciplinary procedures against student protesters.

On Friday morning, the University Senate held a special plenary in light of the week’s events, where they discussed launching an investigative task force into administration, a potential vote of no confidence against Columbia President Minouche Shafik, and campus safety, among other items.

At 1:15 pm on Friday, April 26, the Columbia University Senate held a plenary meeting to discuss ongoing events on campus. The Senate passed the Resolution Addressing Current Events, condemning the University. 

This week, CCSC hosted GSSC representatives to talk about ongoing problems with course search and registration, and a potential upcoming proposal for a new platform. 

In an email early this morning, Co-Chair of the USenate Student Affairs Committee Art Benoit announced that “eligible students” can now access a Columbia alumni directory boasting over 350,000 alumni members from around the world.
