Julia Kite, an urban studies major (?), sent this one in to give SEAS students and science majors one last thrill before midterms. Bwog thinks SEAS guys and gals are probably too jaded to enjoy this, but if you’re not at least one iota thrilled (or made slightly nauseated) by this, there’s probably something wrong with you.
1. Go to an image-heavy website, may we recommend the Columbia homepage (not a blog).
2. Erase the address bar and insert the following code:
javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24;x4=300; y4=200;x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.images; DIL=DI.length;function A(){for(i=0;i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style;DIS.position=’absolute’;DIS.left=Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5;
DIS.top=Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5}R++
}setInterval(‘A()’,5);void(0);
Make sure each line is copied into the bar — you may just get the first line if you try pasting the whole thing at once, so try copying and pasting each line on its own.
3. Press enter.
4. Watch the magic.

@anon It should be all in one line:
javascript:R=0; x1=.1; y1=.05; x2=.25; y2=.24; x3=1.6; y3=.24;x4=300; y4=200;x5=300; y5=200; DI=document.images; DIL=DI.length;function A(){for(i=0;i-DIL; i++){DIS=DI[ i ].style;DIS.position=’absolute’;DIS.left=Math.sin(R*x1+i*x2+x3)*x4+x5;DIS.top=Math.cos(R*y1+i*y2+y3)*y4+y5}R++ }setInterval(‘A()’,5);void(0);
@Compudumbass It’s not working for me.
Can someone tell me how the f#$k it could work
@hey, bwog your title is wrong — this isn’t fun with java, it’s fun with javaSCRIPT
@i recommend trying it on facebook, especially the “my friends” page…

@works on safari try it here: http://www.columbia.edu/help/slideshow/index.html
@hahah lots of fun. would’ve been more fun if seeing the code beforehand hadn’t ruined the surprise.
@hella thrilled wooo! i’m going to try this again when i’m on shrooms. wooooooooooooooo.
@perv try it with a porn site. it’s a whirlwind of nudity. or man-on-dog, if that’s your thing
@If you're on Firefox it doesn’t work. However, when you try it in Internet Explorer, voila.
@wow that’s really cool. It’s better if you do a google image search for something and then type it in. Nice
@rjt Works on Firefox for me, as long as you do the lines one at a time.
@Bwog Staff Try it now… Just copy each line on its own.

@yeah it’s the magic of JS. No matter how you write it, it doesn’t work.
@paranoid Oy, bwog, yer layout is fucked up at present.
I am wary of this post. It didn’t seem to do anything when I pasted it. Now I think they have taken pictures of me. Now they are coming to my house and oh go-
