Hurricane Matthew hit hard in the Caribbean, causing massive casualties, and destruction in some of the poorest areas of Haiti . According to Haiti’s Civil Protection Service, Joseph Edgard Celestin, at least 336 people have died after Hurricane Matthew landed on Tuesday. He further explained: “Four people are missing, 211 are injured and more than 60,000 people are now displaced from the killer storm.” Death toll continues to rise by hour. (CNN)

After the Sexual Assault Survivor’s Act unanimously passed through both the Senate and the House of Representatives, President Barack Obama finally got to sign the bill on Friday. The legislation guarantees the rights of survivors to free medical forensic examination (Aka “rape kit”) and, if the victim requested so, ensures a rape kit to be preserved until the statue of limitation expires. Largest active volcano in Japan, Mount Aso has erupted, exuding smoke and ashes more than 11000 meters high in the air. While the Japan Meteorological Agency said no injuries have been reported, people have been warned not to approach Mount Aso and to be careful of falling rocks. (CNN)

Popular Bernie-Sanders-home-state-based ice cream company Ben & Jerry’s took its stance on supporting Black Lives matter movement to combat institutionalized racism. In its press-released seven-point list, the beloved ice cream company addressed the All Lives Matters movement, stating that “All lives do matter.
