Bwog Recommendation:

  • River is definitely more on the quieter side. It is a good option if you want a less-noisy counterpart to East Campus.
  • The single-use bathrooms are a nice amenity in comparison to communal bathrooms.
  • When the weather is permitting, taking a stroll alongside Riverside Park is a good way to get away from the stress of Columbia and the city.
  • There is a slight hill when walking to campus from River, so when it is slippery/wet it can be annoying to walk to campus.

Resident Opinions:

  • “The lounges are nice and a great way to still be social in a more quiet dorm.”
  • “The walls are thin.”
  • “If you’re on a lower floor and next to the road, you could hear full street conversations. Overall, River was clean (no pest problems) and it’s nice if you like a quieter space with pretty clean facilities.”
